First let me start off by saying, I am the luckiest woman alive! I am 26 years old (no children) and in a relationship with the most amazing man. He is 29 and has a 3 1/2 year old son. We were both previously in marriages that went terribly wrong. His: Shortly after the arrival of his son, his wife cheated on him (continually) with his (now ex) best friend. Both sets of our parents are extremely religious (we are not), and every time we are around the parents we are bombarded with the "M" word. I know they mean well and just want us to be official for religious purposes and both families love us together. How do we get them to back off the "M" word without being disrespectful. Open Question: How Should I Respond to My Daughter? ?

We've kept her son for 2 years. Suddenly, she thinks we should take him back to her when she has NO job, NO car, NO income and quit her last job after 6 hours plus smoked crack most of 2008. Last night, I watched Halloween 2 and in the opening part of the movie there was a scene where we are seeing through Michael Myers eyes and he is peaking into a kitchen where this old lady is making a sandwich for her husband who is in the living room watching I think it was Night of the Living Dead. When her back was turned to the movie and away from the kitchen Michael comes into the kitchen grabs a knife from the counter and leaves. Then the old lady goes back to the kitchen sticks her hand in some blood that Michael left and screams. Or rather, was it simply a "knife and fork question"? This question confuses me greatly. It seems to me that economic factors were hugely important: the movement had most support in times of economic depression, when there were high food prices and so on, and reacted against the Corn Laws, 10-hour-day, New Poor Law of 1834, etc. Surely the idea was that, if the working classes had a say in government, the members of that class would be able to fix some of the economic problems which were troubling them. However, lots of historians seem to say that it was a "knife and fork question" is a serious oversimplification. Do they mean that, although economic concerns were at the forefront of people's minds, the movement was more than a knee-jerk response to times of economic hardship-- that it had roots in an established tradition of radicalism? Do they mean that the economic problems were NOT at the forefront of people's minds and that Chartist Movement was simply fighting for democracy? At the moment (and I'm probably wrong- I don't know...) I think that it was both political and economic. There had been a tradition (after the American and French Revolutions and the writings of Thomas Paine) of political radicalism. Many of the ideas Thomas Paine and his contemporaries had about democracy would go on to form the basis of the Charter in 1838, even though they were writing long before the economic hardships brought on by the Napoleonic Wars, etc. When the vote was given to the middle classes in 1832 and the working classes were still left out, it became more clear than ever that they were being discriminated against on the basis of wealth, and the "class legislation" such as the continuation of the Corn Laws and the New Poor Law of 1834 served to confirm this. At this time, food prices were high and there was economic depression. Thus, many members of the working classes felt that conditions would only ever improve for them if they had a say in government- hence the Charter. The Charter gained a particularly lare amount of support during times of economic hardship (1838-9, 1841-2, 1848), but this was only because these were the times when the NEED for democracy was particularly apparent, and not simply because it was a knee-jerk response... ... Open Question: Cut hand between index finger and thumb..?

This happened 2 weeks ago today. I accidenatally cut myself with a steak knife and I sliced through the webbing between my thumb and index finger. Went to the hospital.. it was pretty deep..yadda yadda.. got six stitches. They told me I could have them taken out in 2 weeks. I got them out yesterday, figuring one less day wouldn't matter. The doctor I went to told me that it was closed up and could safely have them removed. Well, one of stitches looked like it didn't close up completely after it was taken out.. I showed him, he said it was fine, and just to keep a bandaid on it. On the way home, I took another look and the wound was opened up even more. I could see white (maybe fat?) under my skin and red flesh underneath that as well. Called the doctor again asking if it was alright. He said it was. So what I want to know is if I am freaking out for no reason or should I go have someone else check it out and get stitched back up again? The hole is at least 3/4 inch long and pretty deep, but not bleeding. I just don't think this can heal with a simple bandaid like he said. I have it bandaged up again with gauze and a non-adhesive pad because I am terrified of it ripping open even more. More info: Also, when I called the doctor on my way home, he mentioned that since my injury is in such an awkward spot, the stitches wouldn't close it completely.. which I think is total bull. I mean the wound isn't as deep as when I first got (I pretty much filleted that part of my hand), but I think the stitches should have been able to close it up. And I did wear a brace to keep my thumb immobile while it healed, so the "awkward spot" shouldn't have been a problem.

Open Question: How do I get my dog from chewing everything!?

My dog Dirk is a seven month old Newfoundland. He's been jumping on the counter eating food. He got into some maccaroons around x-mas and got sick. He's also been chewing anything possible. On New Year's when we were out, we came back to find that he jumped on the counter, took the knife holder and chewed a knife. I was so scared that he could have cut his mouth. We've given him chew toys galore. He's not inside very often but when he is, he's bound to chew something. I don't know what to do. He's ruining a lot of stuff and most of it's not even mine. PLease help me out! The thing is I live in the country, two hours from the nearest city so I can't put him in training or obedience classes. We buy him bones but he gets bored of them unless the other dogs want them. We also always have someone supervising him but if were going out on New Year's obviously no one is going to be home. He's always outside playing but it's just when he gets cold and comes in that he chews stuff. We can't necessarily dog-proof our house because it's not even my house. We close doors, put away food, and pick up stuff off the floor but no matter what it still doesn't work. He jumped on the bed once and started shredding a pillow case. It's ridiculous. I think I'll try the crate training and the water as well. I'm moving shortly and will be putting him in obedience lessons and hopefully cart training. He's big and strong enough to pull a cart :)

Okay, about the day after Christmas my legs started to hurt. Well, mostly my thighs. It was hurting so bad that I couldn't even cross my legs without them throbbing with a dull pain. Kind of like when you sit on your legs for too long but not long enough to make them fall asleep; they just hurt, not the falling asleep stuff. Then, one night, I got incredibly sick to my stomach. I thought it was indigestion, and I get that a lot, so it made since. But then it got worse. I was sitting straight up in a chair, waiting for the indigestion to go away when I went completely numb. It scared me and almost caused to me to have a panic attack. Being so scared of what was happening, it was a abnormal time to feel incredibly sleepy. This, I took as almost fainting. I was so cold my teeth chattered but so hot I was sweating. Again, all of this was within the time I was numb from head to toe. I looked in the mirror and saw that I was completely pale. My lips were a grayish, blue and my eyes looked hollow. I freaked out more. The anxiety of it all had caused my indigestion, or what you will, to go away. I was left weak and powerless from it all; my legs shaking as I tried to pull them on the recliner chair. My mom, only having come at the end of my numbness, told me to just breathe and relax. I lied out on the recliner and started to calm down. Then pain, unlike I have ever felt, came. It was aligned with my left hip. It felt as if i was dowsed with gasolin from my hip bone(maybe a little higher) to the end of my thigh, then stuck right in the middle of my abdomin with a knife, also dowsed with gasolin, and got on fire. Therefore, causing a scorching, fire-like feeling to spread throughout the left side of my body(hip bone--thigh). I was curled over in pain and screaming for it to stop. I had no idea what it was and it was enough to kill me. After about thirty minutes of this pain it started to come and go, then finally leave for good. I had no more pain that night or any night since then. I would like to point out, though, that during the time that the pain took place, I started my period. I looked it up the next morning and came up with the results of an Ovarian Cysts. My mom said that would be logical and that it might have ruptered or twisted. Thats one mystery. Now for my other one. It's short but even more strange. I bump my head a lot on a shelf right about my height(5'1). Well, one day, I hit the back of my neck, right next to the indension. Everybody knows what I am talking about? Anyway, I had a pretty bad head-ache that day or the day after. It was terrible. But I thought it was because I had spent the day crying. Now, it being about a week later, I am still getting the head-aches. A few nights ago it had felt like hot liqued was running from where I had hit it to the right side of my forehead. I am bewildered at it all but I want some answers. On the night of January 24, I was incredibly dizzy. lying straigh on my back and even closing my eyes would make it worse. Just last night, I couldn't sleep because everytime I would close my eyes it was like I wasn't in my body. My mind was not connected to my body at all and I couldn't seem to feel anything touching my body. I finally gave up trying to sleep. It will be twenty-four hours since I slept here in 50 minutes. Did I mention I am a girl, and I am anxiety problems and caffine makes me buzz out? HELP ME!!!

In the center near the church entrence, I saw my older sister, but she was young and looked to be in her Elementary year. I quickly went up to her since she was next to this huge tiger... This wasn't a normal tiger. It was alot larger and didn't kind of looked real from the face. Before I could stop her, she took off two or three mouth piece off the tiger.
