I tried giving my daughter the gerber puffs that say they dissolve in her mouth. she put them in her mouth after examining them for a while but then started choking and threw up I don't know what else to do since she doesn't want solids im stressed out shes not getting enough vitamins help!!!

Is there any benefits to baby modeling? Other then parents getting money for their child? Has anyone here ever gotten their baby/toddler in a commercial or add? I have been thinking about this, not because I want my son to be in commercials, but I was interested in the Gerber baby contest(which I can't find any information on anyway). Anyone have thoughts? And I don't need a lecture on how it's bad...I shouldn't do it. I know that already...I think my son is gorgeous, but I wouldn't put him through commercial shoots or anything. Open Question: this may sound stupid but how do you puree foods?
i am a first time mommy of a 16 month old who won't eat anything yet but gerber jar foods and they get expensive when she has a big appetite. i have heard of people pureeing the foods that they cook or eat for their baby instead of buying the jar foods but i have no idea how to do that. what do use and how much? some of you are saying that i should be introducing to her finger foods and regular solids, well i did and she won't eat them. she plays with it and either spits it back out or throws it on the floor. i already talked to her doctor about it and he said some babies are like that usually til around 18 to 19 months old and to keep trying and i do but she won't eat it.

My 9 month old daughter is gorgeous. We are constantly being told by complete strangers everywhere we go that she has the face of a gerber baby. They also say she looks like she should be in a magazine. She has big sapphire blue eyes and a head full of brown hair. She also has the most beautiful personality. Always smiling and playful. So here's the question, I want to enter her is a baby photo contest. Not modeling or pimping her out to an agent for print work. Just send a simple picture to a reputable magazine for a contest. My husband is against it. So should I do it anyway or respect his wishes? Dino give me a break!! This has nothing to do with my ego! I also know that people tell people all the time how cute their kids are but how many times have you had a complete stranger do a double take of your kids and then double back to stop and tell you how beautiful they are?! Thomas: you do know what they say happens when you make assumptions right?! Ever consider that maybe I am a teacher and I am surrounded by too many kids all day or maybe I am a daycare worker and the same is true? Open Question: 11 month old eating question.....?
What type of food should be appropriate for an 11 month old I'm just afraid to give my son anything that isn't pureed. I give him the gerber puffs and have made beans and given him one bean at a time to eat and he does fine but other than that I just give him everything pureed or mashed. What's the best way to start getting him used to eating bigger peices of food and even learning to take bites out of food?
Open Question: My 7 month old gets a rash from veggies?
My daughter is almost 7 months old and eats gerber oatmeal mixed with either banana, applesauce, or pears and does fine with it. Everytime I try a new veggie, it never fails that she gets a diaper rash. Sweet potatoes was the worst! She got a bright red diaper rash a couple hours after eating it and screamed when I put diaper rash cream on her. She isn't getting anything else that is new and has been doing well with apples, pears, and bananas, but ALWAYS gets a rash from sweet potato, carrots, and green beans. Is it ok to stick with just the fruits for now? I feel like if she's only eating fruits, she's getting a lot of sugar. Any advice? Thanks (By the way, my first daughter only tolerated squash, peas, and peaches as a baby, but she's 3 now and eats everything). Maybe my kids just have food issues as babies??
Resolved Question: What did you/will you do differently with the second baby?
I'm expecting my second baby and there are some things I will do differently. Now that I'm an expert at breastfeeding I will not give the baby any formula (my 15 month old is still nursing but in the beginning she had formula and pumped milk because I was having a horrible time breastfeeding). I am also going to buy a boppy pillow and a moby wrap or maya wrap. They would have made my life so much easier with my 1st baby. I'm thinking about using cloth diapers but I'm not 100% sure about that. Also, I made my own baby food with my first baby but I used more gerber and beechnut food. This time I will probably make 80-90% of my baby's food and just buy some of the mixed meals like the stage 3 lumpy ones... I might not even do that. What did you or will you do differently now that you're an expert from your first baby. Oh yeah, I HATED my infant car seat/travel system so I donated it like a week before I found out I was pregnant so my hubby has to buy a new one. Teeheehee

Last Night I put my baby in her crib and gave her the Gerber Nuk Pacifier, so I could finish cleaning her bedroom. Suddenly, I heard a weird sound that I had never heard before.. I went to the check on her and to my surprise she was choking and her pacifier was stuck inside her mouth. My body almost shut down, I immediately tried to pull it out..and was so stuck that I screamed..but I got it out. She was in so much pain that she lost her breathing for 30 seconds..after that she cried so much and loud. my god it was a terrible thing to see my baby like that. I just thought to myself what if I would have not been around at that moment. I just cannot think about it. The reason I'm posting this is because. First. Gerber company do not care about it. Second, to advise Parents to be careful with this product. to either not use a Pacifier..or get a bigger Pacifier so your child won't choke on it. Any comments, would be really appreciate it.

What brand do you prefer and why? I used to like Gerber, but when I went to the 2nd foods I found that there really wasn't a whole lot of difference between those and the 1st foods. I really like Beech Nut brand. Their 2nd foods seem thicker and I really like the foods that have the DHA in them. I agree, I do like the Earth's best, but in my tiny mountain town it's hard to find in our local grocery store.
Open Question: sleeping in his own bed, and the s*** word ?
my little guy will be turning two next month and ever since christmas week he will not sleep in his room all night. over at grandmas we slept in their livingroom with my son on the couch and me on the air bed on the floor since we came back home when he wakes up he ends up coming into are room and on are bed. even with the door shut he will open it, iv put the gate up but he just stands there saying i want mommie. he has even tried to climb the gate. and just yesterday iv heard him say shit, he has heard this from my cousins, besides saying to him no more how else do i get him to stop saying it. so do i have to sleep train him again or is there another way to get him to sleep all night in his room? and besides telling him no more on the swearing what else can i do to have him stop (dish soap and hot sauce are out of the question) he is also ready for potty training , he tells me when he poops and he does ask to use the potty just not all the time. we give him dum dums after each time he uses the potty .if i was to really train him after he hits two how do i go about it? i have the Gerber cloth training pants.

She's 9 years old and seems perfectly happy. She doesn't seem at a lack for energy or strength. She started seeming a little under weight so I was supplementing her regular food with daily doses of chicken baby food (gerber second foods) and she LOVED it. She could hear me opening the jar down the hall and went crazy in anticipation. Suddenly, in the last few days she's simply stopped eating. I've tried tempting her with her favorite treats and she refuses to take more than a bite. She's losing weight really fast and has always been really tiny anyway. (She was the runt of the litter, imagine a tube of tooth paste with legs and a tail.) The only thing I get her to eat is her FerretVite. And if I mix in a little baby food I can get her to eat maybe a teaspoon of it in an entire day. I know she's older and this could just be the end of things but she just seems so happy and energetic that I just don't understand it.

A friend of mine told me that in order to save formula, when making my babies cereal to mix it with water and juice in equal parts and add 1 dose of vitamin drops. She said mixing cereal with formula is the best nutrition wise but in order to save formula (we are both on WIC) to make cereal that way because the vitamin drops give the baby all the nutrients they miss out on from not using formula. Is this true? also i noticed since i have giving my baby the vitamin drops, he has black poopy and it isnt as loose as it used to be. My son is 15 months old and is extremely picky. He doesn't want baby food for dinner anymore, and only likes to eat macaroni & cheese, rice, chicken nuggets, and corn. Occasionally I can get him to eat regular chicken breast, but if I offer him anything else, he clamps his mouth shut and will not try it! I tried to give him a PB&J sandwich cut up for lunch the other day and he wanted nothing to do with it. In fact, he threw it on the floor. He ended up eating gerber strawberries & bananas... It seems like almost everyone on here wants to start babies on cereal or other solids at 4 months or even earlier, even though the current research and every major pediatric health organization says their digestive systems are not ready for it until 6 months and that starting earlier can cause health problems. I'm just curious of the reasoning. Is it because that's how your parents did it, because your pediatrician isn't up on the current research and recommendations, because it says 4 months on the Gerber box, or just something you decided on your own for whatever reason? I would very much appreciate thoughtful and honest answers of why you started solids when you did. I'm just curious to know. If you think it's none of my business, then you are more than free to NOT answer. EDIT: Like I said, I'm just asking out of curiosity. I'm not going to judge you on it. Don't answer and then tell me it's none of my business, if you don't want to share then don't answer the question, not really that hard. It's not like I asked YOU specifically, I just posed a question for whoever WANTED to answer, so it's really pretty silly for you to get offended.

ok i keep reading how u need to wash these diapers like 10 times before they become absorbent and soft, but that is just before the 1st use right? u don't need to wash them 10 times each time u wash them do u??? anyone using cloth pre-folds? and are u using Chinese,Indian or some other brand like gerber? and how well do they work for you?

Voting Question: Feeding 5 1/2 month-old gerber peas?
My baby will be 6 mons on Jan. 11th. She is my 1st baby, so I am new at this. well I gave her rice cereal awhile back but only did it twice bc Id read so many bad things about it. well she is a "bigger' baby and my pediatrician said I could go ahead and start giving her baby food. But she recommended NOT skipping her rice cereal. well I did. so today for the 1st time I gave her some Gerber peas. About 4 baby spoons worth. But she spit most of it out and looked grossed out, which i know is normal for the 1st time. But I'm kinda scared and nervous now, bc I didnt cook the peas...they are just jarred baby food baby peas and i didnt cook them, also theyre organic it says, is that okay, or is my baby going to get sick??
